Asian Coalition of Tallahassee, Inc.

A.C.T. exists to unite the Asian Communities in the Big Bend Area and promote the Asian culture. A.C.T. solicits active participation and support from Asian communities and other interested parties in Asian affairs. A.C.T. enhances cultural, social, and economic ties among Asians and Americans. A.C.T. actively supports charitable, educational and humanitarian causes. A.C.T. advocates for Asian issues and interests. A.C.T. participates in community activities to promote Asian awareness.

(COCA) Council on Culture and Arts

COCA works on behalf of the community to support a vibrant quality of life in Leon County. Through its programs, COCA continually seeks ways to promote the area's diverse range of cultural events and traditions. Through innovative partnerships with community and educational groups, COCA enriches the lives of citizens and visitors alike.

Entrepreneurial Excellence Program

The Economic Development Council of Tallahassee/Leon County is now offering an Entrepreneurial Excellence Program (EEP). This tuition based-course will arm existing early stage start-up businesses, as well as entrepreneurs with well-developed ideas, with the resources and knowledge needed to enhance their chance of success. This course explores the realities of planning and starting a company, and helps individuals plan for the successful development and launch of a business.

The EEP will navigate entrepreneurs through the vulnerable stages of business development by providing access to a team of local business experts, researchers and specialists who will help lay the foundation for a successful company. The program will feature such basics as effective business models; team development; legal foundations; marketing strategies; funding insight and entrepreneurial experiences.

Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship

The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship in the College of Business at The Florida State University was established in 1995 to cultivate, train and inspire entrepreneurial leaders in the community through world-class education programs and curriculum, intensive consulting assistance and mentorship to entrepreneurs and business owners, leading-edge academic research and applied education and public recognition. Our faculty and staff provide students, faculty, entrepreneurs, and business owners the tools and expertise necessary to develop strategies that establish and sustain advantages for businesses in today’s competitive marketplace and to creatively pursue new opportunities and innovations involving the startup of new business ventures.

 KCCI

The Knight Creative Communities Institute (KCCI) strives to attract and retain young professionals and develop a more adaptable workforce for Florida’s capital city. KCCI is a national model. By developing a stronger creative sector, all of Tallahassee will benefit from new jobs and businesses. It is fueled by a group of “community catalysts,” or local leaders and advocates who will meet to devise new ways to help the city’s economy grow.  KCCI catalyst teams have created programs such as the Tallahassee Film Festival, Sustainable Tallahassee and Get Gaines Going that uniquely market Tallahassee's cultural and historical resources to young professionals and growing businesses.

Leon County/Tallahassee Economic Development Council

Working together to create jobs--connecting the private sector, education and local government the EDC helps joining forces to foster entrepreneurialism, advance local businesses, grow targeted industry sectors, attract innovative companies to our area and, create a competitive business environment.

Leon County Research & Development Authority - Innovation Park

For the past 25 years, Innovation Park has been the heart of Tallahassee's technology future. The university-related research park was established as a unique location for the technology industry and government scientists to work hand-in-hand with such prestigious research universities as Florida A&M University and Florida State University.

Innovation Park is home to a wealth of high-tech and research-based facilities that are creating the technology of tomorrow. The mission of Innovation Park is to promote scientific research and development activities and to foster economic development and broaden the economic base of Leon County

LGBT Business Partners Group

The LGBT Business Partners Group is a network of LGBT businesses, professionals and allies dedicated to the promotion of business and social opportunities.  It is an affiliated group of The Family Tree Community Center, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide services that promote the well being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons, and to provide a place where everyone is welcome.
 

SCORE

“Counselors to America’s Small Business” is America's premier source of free & confidential small business advice for entrepreneurs. SCORE is a nonprofit organization formed in 1964 to help small businesses flourish by providing a public service to America through free small business advice and training. SCORE's 10,500 volunteers are working/retired business owners, executives and corporate leaders and have more than 600 business skills to share.

Silicon Tally

Most individuals lack all of the resources needed to initiate or grow their desired tech venture.  Across the board, most new businesses need legal structure, intellectual property protection, and capital to fund growth.  Silicon Tally helps start-ups and early stage companies access the resources that they need to grow and excel.  

Small Business Development Center

The Small Business Development Center is a partnership program with the United States Small Business Administration. SBDC’s major focus is the provision of management and technical assistance to small business firms to aid in stabilizing the economy, developing jobs in the private sector, and fostering entrepreneurship. Services are provided to an area, which includes eight counties: Leon, Franklin, Gadsden, Liberty, Jefferson, Madison, Taylor and Wakulla.

TEN

Tallahassee Entrepreneurs Networks is a dynamic every-other-month entrepreneurship workshop. Its goals are to facilitate collaboration and relationship building, provide opportunities to hone networking skills, and to empower participants with practical business knowledge.

TEN began in 2009 with a vision to create an event, similar to Toastmasters, that would provide participants with a safe and supportive environment, that would allow them to have fun, and learn to see through new “networking eyes."
